The applicant will
- Have a number of years laboratory practical experience
- Be educated in, and experienced with technical measurement issues in laboratories.
- Have detailed technical expertise in one of the above areas of measurement
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with laboratory staff and management and their customers at all levels
- Have a keen interest in sound metrology and its dissemination.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the assessment of laboratories and inspection bodies throughout the UK and will appoint assessment teams, participate in assessment visits and provide support on both technical and policy issues. This position requires travel mainly within the UK with some overnight stays.
